On the Summit
GREECE, 2010, 52'
  by AGON - Tuesday, 7 February 2012

A documentary about Psiloritis, the mountain-symbol of Crete, and the timeless appeal of the summit enchanting people throughout centuries.

Why do people climb on Psiloritis summit? Is it for Zeus? Or is it for the True Cross? Is it the panoramic view? Or just the challenge?

“We will tell you”. Who? Psarantonis the musician; priest Thanassis; French “flower children”; shepherds; Yiannis Sakellarakis, the archaeologist; my aunt Elli; the extraordinary prior; climbers… a lot of people. Even a BBC crew…

Each one carries his “Cretan” perspective to the summit. From up there one can see more than the entire Crete. Up there IS the entire Crete.
